THE NUMBERS (third-party or church-reported, as labelled)

  • March 2011: Eternity Network International and Koinonia begin in Zaria (church sources)
  • 2013: Koinonia School of Ministry launched (ministry FAQ)
  • About 2 million: YouTube subscribers (vidIQ tracker)
  • About 249 million: total channel views since June 2019 (vidIQ estimate)

Some ministries are best understood through buildings. This one is better understood through teaching, training and distribution. In March 2011, a young chemical engineering graduate began a weekly Friday meeting at Christ Gospel Church in Samaru, Zaria. Fifteen years later, a recent service on the ministry’s own media page shows more than 700,000 views. Like Day 3’s Paul Enenche, he now operates from Abuja, but his ministry began in the north.

WHO IS CREATING IMPACT?

Joshua Selman Nimmak was born on 25 June 1980 and hails from Plateau State. He studied chemical engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and became an assistant pastor at Christ Gospel Church, Samaru, after graduating. He leads Eternity Network International (ENI), whose weekly gathering, Koinonia, is the platform most people know him through. He is also Principal of the Koinonia School of Ministry.

WHAT IS HE BUILDING?

ENI has two main arms: Koinonia Global and the Koinonia School of Ministry (KSOM). KSOM launched in 2013, and the ministry’s FAQ says its intensive programme requires students to be on the ground in Zaria or Abuja. A graduation service was held in Abuja on 18 August 2024. Its public materials describe graduates serving in ministry, governance, business, education and media, which is the school’s own claim and has not been independently followed up.

The Abuja base, the Koinonia Abuja Centre, hosts monthly Miracle Services, and services stream on YouTube, Facebook and online radio. The calendar also includes the Advance Conference in Abuja, the Accelerate Conference in Lagos and an annual Koinonia Global Faith Convention, held in Abuja from 19 to 23 November 2025.

Beyond Nigeria

Sound of Revival is the international banner. Documented events include Manchester’s 21,000-capacity AO Arena in May 2023, Dallas and Mississauga, Ontario, in July 2024, New York’s Nassau Coliseum on 14 and 15 August 2025, and Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena in 2026. His media consultant said the Liverpool event filled the arena beyond its seating capacity and streamed globally.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

The Koinonia YouTube channel launched in June 2019, eight years after the first gathering, and now has about two million subscribers. A tracker’s estimate puts total views at about 249 million.

Views measure distribution, not discipleship. They do not show unique viewers, regular attendance or changed lives. It would also be hard to show that one minister has transformed a generation without independent research. A more defensible reading is that Selman is a prominent voice in a wider movement of African Christian teaching that stresses biblical exposition and purposeful living. His ministry has also drawn public debate, as prominent ministers’ do. This profile examines the institutional and media record, not doctrine or personal life.

HOW DID THEY GET THERE?

1. Starting small and staying consistent

Koinonia began as a Friday gathering in Samaru in 2011 and has kept a weekly rhythm since, a different growth model from the land-and-buildings approach of Days 1 to 3.

2. Turning teaching into training

KSOM launched in 2013, giving the ministry a structured pathway beyond sermons for people who want deeper formation.

3. Putting the archive online and taking gatherings outward

The YouTube channel began in June 2019, and Sound of Revival events followed in the UK, North America and the UK again in 2026. Each used a named series, so the brand travelled with him.

WHAT CAN THE NEXT GENERATION LEARN?

1. Consistency compounds. Fifteen years of weekly gatherings is the foundation, not the viral moment.

2. Build a system around the message. A school, a convention and a digital archive help the work outlast any single appearance.

3. Treat digital media as infrastructure. An organised archive turns one gathering into a lasting resource.

4. Measure honestly. Views, subscribers, attendance, enrolment and graduates are different indicators. Report which one you mean, with its source and period.

WHAT IS THE MEASURABLE IMPACT?

Indicator Reported figure or milestone
Founding or start year March 2011, Zaria (church sources)
Scale of network or reach About 2 million YouTube subscribers and about 249 million total views (vidIQ estimates); Sound of Revival events in the UK, US and Canada
Physical or institutional assets Koinonia Abuja Centre; annual Faith Convention in Abuja (November 2025)
Education, research or training arm Koinonia School of Ministry, launched 2013; Abuja graduation held August 2024; no enrolment figures found
Independent benchmark No independent audit of attendance, membership or alumni outcomes found; YouTube figures are third-party estimates

Method note: YouTube figures are estimates from a third-party tracker. Event attendance is described by the ministry’s media consultant or by media reports. None is an independently audited measure of membership or social impact.

THE BIGGER LESSON: DISTRIBUTION IS NOT THE SAME AS FORMATION

Selman’s story shows how teaching can scale through media faster than buildings can. The harder question is whether the ideas are understood, practised and reproduced. Tracking graduates, programme reach and documented service would tell us more than audience size alone.

At Faith On Motion, we believe Kingdom impact deserves to be documented with both conviction and evidence. The goal is not merely to record how far a leader has travelled, but to understand what has been built, whom it serves and what future generations can learn from it.
